What
is HEC.iTV?
HEC.iTV
stands for Healthy Eating Club internet
television.
With
the assitance of Go Trek, HEC now has a
television channel on the internet called
"Healthy Moments" which shows
free video clips (of 1-3 minutes duration).
The
video clips feature Professor Mark Wahlqvist
(photo above), an opinion leader in the
field of nutrition science, and other nutrition
experts from HEC such as Dr Antigone Kouris.
The clips will help you understand the latest
findings in nutrition research and will
clarify misconceptions, fads and controversies
in the nutrition field. For example, the
first series of video clips will sort the
facts from the fads about "magic"
water, tea, eggs, legumes and exercise.
How
does the internet TV channel work?
To
view HEC video clips, a free
Go Trek program needs to be dowloaded
from our site.
This
program will run the video clips in a smaller
window on your computer screen when
you are on the web. You can turn this window
off when ever you wish.
Unlike
traditional video streaming HEC.iTV downloads
the content whilst still allowing you to
do other things online. Because it is downloading
in the background, you will have
to wait until content is ready to be shown.
The
HEC icon will appear in your systems
tray in the bottom
right hand corner of your screen.
It will flash to let you know when there
is new content to be viewed. You may also
hear an audio notification.
You just click on the icon when it notifies
you that new content is available.
The
signal is not broken no matter how many
times you are online. When the download
is complete, you will be able to view seamless
video content on your computer.
The
time new material takes to download is dependant
on your connection, and how much time you
spend online, but the final results are
the same for all users. So, if you don't
spend that much time online, or you have
a slow connection, it may take you a couple
of online sessions before you start to receive
content.
The
window in which the video clips appear has
clickable areas e.g
click through to relevant articles on the
HEC website which relate to video topic.
Optional
Content Categories
HEC has chosen 3 other channels to accompany
HEC.iTV when it is dowloaded:
